Instagram is a image and video-sharing interpersonal networking service owned or operated by Facebook, Inc. It had been created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and launched in Oct 2010 entirely on iOS. A version for Google android devices premiered 2 yrs later, in Apr 2012, accompanied by a feature-limited website user interface in November 2012, and software for Home windows 10 Mobile and Glass windows 10 in Apr 2016 and Oct 2016 respectively.
The software allows users to upload photographs and videos to the service, that can be edited with various filter systems, and structured with tags and location information. An account’s content can be distributed publicly or with pre-approved supporters. Users can surf other users’ content by tags and locations, and view trending content. Users can “like” images, and follow other users to include their content to a give food to.
The service was formerly recognized by only allowing content to be framed in a square (1:1) aspect percentage, but these limitations were eased in 2015. The service also added messaging features, the capability to include multiple images or videos within a post, as well as “Stories”–similar to its main competition Snapchat–which allows users to create photographs and videos to a sequential give food to, with each post accessible by others every day and night each.
